At Dominion Energy, we are building Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) to deliver Virginia’s clean energy future with economic development and jobs that will be transformative for Hampton Roads and beyond.

Opportunities and Training

To move this project forward, we are working alongside global partners, Virginia businesses and hundreds of local workers, contractors and suppliers. This team is responsible for safely constructing, operating and maintaining the offshore and onshore components that will ultimately provide clean, reliable and sustainable energy to up to 660,000 homes.

Career Events

We are committed to maximizing opportunities for Virginia’s businesses and workforce. We are hosting local events for potential workers who can help construct, operate and maintain this important renewable energy project. Workforce of Tomorrow

To ensure a strong and qualified workforce, we support educational programs that provide opportunities for potential workers and future generations.

We are working with the Hampton Roads Workforce Council, the National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project, K-12 educators, community colleges, colleges and universities, North American Building Trades Union and their state affiliate Virginia Building Trades, and other partners throughout the region to help train potential clean energy employees.

Offshore Wind Certifications

Depending on your desired career in the offshore wind industry, you may need to successfully complete Global Wind Organisation (GWO) Basic Safety Training. This training reflects the safety and technical standards expected by all wind energy companies across the world. There are currently three facilities offering GWO training in Virginia:
